What They Are Up To
The Illini 4000 was an eye opening experience for me. Inspired by the stories of the people I met in 2007 it took me about 10 seconds to decide to apply to ride again when I heard I4K was in need of more riders for the 2008 ride. In short my experiences with the Illini 4000 were amazing. From the people we met with inspiring stories to the strangers who opened their homes and communities to us, riding with the Illini 4000 showed a side of America that gives one hope. That despite newpaper headlines of war and a struggling economy people are willing to help people when brought together by a common cause. I'm currently working on my masters degree in Experiential Education and a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Leadership at Minnesota State University. I'm scheduled to graduate in May 2011 however I may graduate in December 2010 depending on the amount of course work I choose to complete this coming summer. I still ride my bike, enjoy peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and associate Panera Bread with garbage bags of bagels, cakes and pastries.
